Happy Holidays!

December 24, 2009

To each and every one of you – no matter what you celebrate – have a GREAT and safe holiday season and a fantastic 2010! Thanks to all of my clients for a 2009 that exceeded every expectation of mine – and for building a 2010 that already at this point in time will be even better – and there’s more to come!

Here’s the Christmas card that my husband, Jim, and I sent out to friends and family. We set up this shoot on a COLD evening a few weeks back with our airplane, a 1947 Cessna 120.

This will be SDP’s first bridal show! Come see us in booth 928. Offers and goodies galore. We’re in a pretty prominent spot – when you come into the exhibit hall through the main doors, our booth is immediately to your right against the front wall! Easy peasy. Stop by and say hi!

Also, coming up (more soon!) we’ll be exhibiting at the Topeka Bridal Fair January 23-24 at the Topeka Ramada. More to come!

Last weekend I went to Piropos’ Parkville private dining location to shoot the facility all set up for a holiday party. For those of you who don’t know, Piropos is my favorite. restaurant. ever. The food is FABULOUS. I wish I were independently wealthy…I’d eat there weekly. It’s just that good.

The main restaurant is located at the shops at Briarcliff – and the original restaurant in quaint and historic Parkville remains as a private dining and special event facility. Hello brides? Need a GREAT space with OUT OF THIS WORLD food? Look no further. And the restaurant’s manager and events coordinator, Rachel, is about as good as they get at what she does!

While we are talking about people who are good at what they do, Shana Vaughn at Shana Vaughn Designs did the floral arrangements for the below pictured event. One word – GORGEOUSSSS! Shana works regularly with Piropos and her business is also located in the Briarcliff Village shops. Again, brides – need beyond fabulous flowers? Here is another great vendor to put on your list!

I’m very excited to work with these ladies in the future!

Without further adieu, here’s some images from the weekend.

Yesterday Shanna brought her family up for a shoot. We wandered the countryside in “God’s Country” – at least for as long as we all could stay warm. That wind would cut right through ya! The light was absolutely gorgeous and it’s one of the things I like about winter shooting – the sun is much less harsh than it is in the summer when it’s directly overhead. I ALWAYS have clients tell me “we’ll do x shoot or y shoot in the spring” but honestly, winter is a GREAT time to shoot! I think when you see these photos you’ll agree. We can work around the barren trees quite well – and the neutral tones of the land are really nice.

Guys, thanks for coming out and I hope you love these! And Brayson, I hope your soybean field-induced allergy attack was over with quickly!! :)
