I met Katie and Jason through Shana Vaughn of Shana Vaughn Designs, whom I sublease my studio space from and who is also good friends with Katie….AND did her wedding flowers. I absolutely LOVED working with these two, starting off with their engagement session earlier in the fall. We had TONS of time to roam about town and shoot with the wedding party before the ceremony, which was held mid-evening with a late evening reception at the Grand Reserve downtown. Katie and Jason are SUCH a happy couple, and Katie positively RADIATED as a bride. You’ll see below.
Plus, she is so amazingly sweet and thoughtful – I couldn’t get her to stop thanking me and my second shooter Mike Tsai throughout the day!
I’m a bit late in blogging this one – I’ve been working nonstop and I mean NONSTOP (let’s just say I’m having wrist and elbow issues from using my Wacom pen all day (and evening) for days on end) on catching up on editing sessions for clients. I wanted these two to get their sneak peek before I head off to New York City for a few days, though! Congratulations guys!!!

I always LOVE first looks!

…then it was out and ALL over town!!

We shot quite a bit in the west bottoms by Katie’s dad’s business…LOVE this shot!

Katie wanted EVERYONE on the trolley in lots of shots!

As darkness fell, it was back to the church for the ceremony.

after the ceremony, guests and wedding party alike went straight to the Grand Reserve – what an elegant venue!

Katie and her dad did the most original, well-planned and FUNNY father-daughter dance ever – to a medley of practically dozens of tunes!
