Amanda and Jordan continue the streak of engagement sessions from last week! We shot around the University of Kansas campus and surrounding area, including a quick stop at the Allen Fieldhouse lobby for some fun photos. These two are another of my 2012 wedding clients, so you will see them on the blog again next year!

Kaitlyn + Kyle | A KU Campus engagement session in Lawrence, KansasOctober 28th, 2011Kaitlyn had a super narrow window to get hers and Kyle’s engagement session done – as in an early Friday morning last week – as she lives out of state and had flown in the night before to attend a wedding in Hays, Kansas, her stomping grounds. Kaitlyn had a super narrow window to get hers and Kyle’s engagement session done – as in an early Friday morning last week – as she lives out of state and had flown in the night before to attend a wedding in Hays, Kansas, her stomping grounds. We’d scheduled the session such that she and Kyle could get it taken care of at their alma mater on their way west – and luckily, the stars aligned, as their next opportunity would be the dead of winter. It *could* have been winter when we started the session at 7:30am to catch first light, as there was frost on the ground and it was a whopping 31 degrees. But it warmed up quickly and these two were so into each other, I don’t think they cared about the colder-than-usual temperature anyways!

Stephanie + Brady | A Topeka Kansas country engagement sessionOctober 25th, 2011Stephanie and Brady were a TON of fun to shoot. Which was good, because it was about 50 degrees with a 30mph wind during their session Stephanie definitely was brave shooting in her dress…luckily we were able to seek shelter from the wind inside the barn for a bit, which was uber cool anyways. Stephanie definitely was brave shooting in her dress…luckily we were able to seek shelter from the wind inside the barn for a bit, which was uber cool anyways. You’ll see these two on a hopefully warmer day next April when they get married! Many thanks to the Old Stone House Bed and Breakfast in Tecumseh, Kansas, who was SUPER kind to let us use their property for this session.

Ok, you gotta admit that doing engagement photos in a donut shop is a cool opportunity. You gotta admit that doing engagement photos in a movie theater is a cool opportunity. You REALLY gotta admit that doing engagement photos in BOTH places in the same session is truly awesome! I met Tiffany and Roy on a blustery morning last week to shoot their engagement session in a park, in one of Roy’s donut shops (he owns several around the Olathe area!), and in the movie theater – both Roy and Tiffany are admittedly huge movie buffs so it was only appropriate! Don’t ask me how Tiffany pulled some strings to get us in – but she did, and they turned out SO FUN! Check these two out. You’ll see them again come February when they are married!

Lindsey + Brett | Plaza and Downtown Kansas City engagement sessionOctober 17th, 2011Lindsey and Brett are next up on the ol’ blog! Another session with gorgeous weather. I even taught one of my [...] |

It’s always funny when you find out you “know” a client – turns out Brett’s dad is a pretty big fixture at the downtown airport and I totally know who he is, through flying. I even taught one of my flight students out of his business a few years ago. Such a small world. You’ll see these two right here again next June when they are married!

I met Ashley and Lance last week on a gorgeous evening in Lawrence for their engagement session around the University of Kansas campus. Also along for the ride were their two rat terriers, Muffin and Chesney. Lots of dogs along on sessions this fall and I LOVE it! The campus was super gorgeous and there was some really nice fall color starting to show – actually, quite honestly better than what we had in Kansas City at the time. What a fun couple Ashley and Lance are – can’t wait to photograph their wedding next June! Thanks to Brooke Letorneau for assisting on this session
Happy Monday!
