It goes without saying that if you are a wedding photographer AND a pilot, if you get clients who want to do an aviation-themed session, then you’re gonna geek out on it. And so I did. I met Danielle and Tyler last Friday for their session at Kansas City’s Wheeler Downtown Airport – the two were coming up from Wichita in a Cessna 421 belonging to Tyler’s dad’s company. They arrived a bit early, knowing how anything aviation is prone to delay, so we started out shooting around the Airline History Museum (which if you haven’t seen, is uber cool and about to get cooler with a new deli and coffee shop opening soon!). I mean, how many people can say they’ve had engagement photos taken inside of one of the last remaining Lockheed Constellations? Or inside an original TWA DC-3 that’s not TOO far from flying once again? Of course, we also shot around the 421 out on the ramp a bit. Then we headed up to my subdivision to shoot in the gorgeous fields around my house. (And for those of you who dream of wheat-field images, I’ve got news for you, the field behind our house this year is a…dun dun DUN! wheat field!) Danielle and Tyler, I hope you all enjoyed Trezo Mare! Thanks to Mike Tsai for shooting some promo video of the session for me. (I fed him Kelso’s Pizza in exchange – not exactly Trezo Mare but it hit the spot!)
We started out in the “Connie”. DC-3 and the 421…

..and headed north to do some country shootin’!
