Danyelle and Beau: engaged | University of Kansas campus and Clinton Lake

I hate hate HATE being late. Even five minutes late and I’ve got sweaty palms and raised blood pressure. So you can imagine the stress-fest that was occurring in my lil’ old Pontiac Grand Am and I sat at a standstill for THREE MILES in the queue to get through the toll plaza onto the Kansas Turnpike last Sunday (who would have thought my timing with the end of the NASCAR race at Kansas Speedway would be SO exquisite?), THEN another standstill due to an accident in the construction zone on the turnpike near Lawrence. Thank God for GPS, I bailed off the highway at Eudora and took back roads into Lawrence – but not without being 45 minutes late. Yes, 45 MINUTES. Danyelle and Beau were SO patient, though, and we worked quickly all over Lawrence and then out to Clinton Lake with the daylight we had. Once we reached the vista that the two had heard about overlooking the lake, the sun had finally dropped below the horizon. We made it work though, and the end result were my favorite shots from the session!

You will see more of these two next spring when they get married! You better bet I’ll be there with bells on HOURS in advance. 😉
