Kristen + Brendan | Kansas City’s West Bottoms engagement session

Wind seemed to follow Kristen and Brendan wherever they went. It’s no secret the weather this spring has been VERY volatile; I’m super nervous about next week as I have FIVE engagement sessions to shoot and know the weather’s not been able to string together more than two good days for weeks. Kristen and Brendan’s first go at their engagement session turned out to be a super warm day; however, the winds were gusting to 40mph which makes it hard to walk at times let alone not look like a tornado is bearing down on you. Our reschedule turned out to be fairly breezy as well; although not THAT breezy it was quite cool! Luckily the sun broke out partway through their session and it ended up being quite pleasant for about the last hour. Kristen had expressed to me a love for textures (old wood, old bricks, worn paint) and a vintage vibe, so I suggested the West Bottoms as a location that would fit that bill. Here’s what we came up with during our two hours of exploring alleys and old building fronts! These two will be back on the blog in October, when they’ll be happily married :)
