kansas city boudoir portrait marathon session

I’m very excited to announce, in conjunction with CaraSue Hall of Dalla Cima Salon, my two boudoir marathon dates for 2015! Perfect for brides-to-be, for a birthday or anniversary present, or just because. The two options for these hour-long sessions are:

1. $399 – includes digital files with print release, 1 hour of photography, and professional hair and makeup on-site
2. $450 – includes a 6×6 “little black book” (album), 1 hour of photography, and professional hair and makeup on-site

The two dates for this year are Saturday, February 7th and Sunday, April 12th. If you are on the fence about doing a session – DO IT! These will likely be my only marathon dates in 2015. Once wedding season starts, it is nearly an impossibility for CaraSue and I, who both work a lot of weddings, to have a common weekend date available. However, my full boudoir sessions are available at any time of the year on weekdays.

These sessions are shot in my studio, which is located in a 100+ year old Century Home just off the downtown square in Liberty, Missouri, featuring gorgeous hardwood floors, vintage furnishings and simply stunning natural light. Most ladies can get 3-4 complete outfits photographed in this length of time.

Please email me if you are interested in booking! A $100 nonrefundable deposit (can be transferred to another date on the off chance you should be ill or otherwise!) is required at booking, and the balance is due the day of the session.

winter boudoir marathon dates announced!

January 2nd, 2013

First of all, if you’ve not headed over to my boudoir site, SDP Boudoir, you might want to do so! (and like SDP Boudoir on Facebook!) I LOVE doing boudoir sessions. During the wedding off-season, I schedule “boudoir marathon” days with CaraSue Hall of Dalla Cima Salon (located right across the hall from my studio, […]

First of all, if you’ve not headed over to my boudoir site, SDP Boudoir, you might want to do so! (and like SDP Boudoir on Facebook!) I LOVE doing boudoir sessions. During the wedding off-season, I schedule “boudoir marathon” days with CaraSue Hall of Dalla Cima Salon (located right across the hall from my studio, how convenient!) on selected Saturdays. These “marathon” sessions are a bit shorter than full sessions, therefore a bit less expensive, but they aren’t short on fun! (if you’d like a complete pricing guide including full session packages, email me!)

The marathon sessions are one hour long (plus approximately 45-minutes to an hour with CaraSue prior to starting your session, so plan to be with us for 2 hours) and we’ll shoot as many outfits as we can during that time, but 4 changes is a good average. We do about 6-7 sessions on these days. Our dates are January 26th and March 9th. Warning: the second date always fills first because people want to “lose those 5 pounds” 😉 – so if you want the March date, act fast!

There are two package options. The first is $399 and includes 25 of your favorite images on DVD with a printing release. The second is $450 and includes a gorgeous 6×6 leather album (click here for a sample layout!). Both options include hair and makeup by CaraSue in the pricing.

If you’re interested in booking, hop to it! Our winter sessions last year filled completely. To book your session, email me for a contract – once you send that in with a $75 deposit, your date and time are secured and good to go (don’t worry, if we have bad weather/slick roads we’ll reschedule everyone). If you say pretty please I can probably get electronic files to you in time for Valentine’s Day with the January 26th session (albums CANNOT be delivered in time, however). These sessions are a stunning gift for your husband-to-be, for an anniversary, birthday, or “just because”.

Slots are available as early as 9am and as late as 4pm. Ladies will spend the first half of the session (plan to spend two hours with us!) with CaraSue having professional hair and makeup done, then the second half with me creating some super sexy images for the loved one in your life! These sessions are UNFORGETTABLE gifts for your fiancé, husband or boyfriend.

We’ve already booked a few sessions for each date but we have plenty of room for YOU! Please
email me for available times and a contract to book your spot. You’ll receive a disc of edited images from the session, or for a small up-charge, you can swap the disc for a 6×6 album. These are SUPER fun sessions and CaraSue and I are only able to offer 2 to 3 of these per year due to our wedding schedules, so be sure to take advantage now! I’m so excited to now have my studio in which to shoot boudoir, the vintage vibe and cool old furniture is just perfect for these sessions. And with CaraSue’s Dalla Cima Salon located RIGHT ACROSS THE HALLWAY (same building!), well, how can you go wrong?

Hope to see you in February or March! (if those dates don’t work for you, I offer private sessions including mini sessions every Monday! see my full boudoir guide here!)

Hi Guys! Our next boudoir marathon in concert with CaraSue Hall of CH Makeup Artistry is FINALIZED! It will be Thursday, August 11th, all day – and will be held this time at my little in-home boudoir studio (the majority of my boudoir work is done here – and this time around, you have the option of strolling onto the land behind us for some shots in tall grass if you wish!). There’s a reason I do a lot of my sessions here – the bedroom I use has GORGEOUSSSSS natural light. We only have time for 8 sessions – and two are already booked, so only six slots remain! A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot along with a signed contract (and please note, we REALLY MEAN non-refundable – please make sure you are 100% committed to doing this session BEFORE you pay your deposit, as the deposit means we are blocking out part of our day for YOU. Muchas Gracias.). We have more options available for you guys this time – all sessions include an hour with CaraSue getting gorgeous hair, makeup and lashes, and an hour shooting with me with as many outfits as your little heart desires. (also please note, skipping the hair and makeup is NOT an option for marathon sessions – it’s part of the deal we bring to you!) For $350, you get CaraSue’s services, an hour of shooting, and a disc of edited images with a release. For $400, you can get CaraSue’s services, an hour of shooting, and a 24 page 8″x8″ custom album (sample coming this week, photos will be posted and the actual album will be at the session!). For $500, you can get CaraSue’s services, an hour of shooting, disc AND the album (DEAL!)

I am often asked “is an hour long enough to get a good amount of variety?” The answer is a resounding YES. We are working in a very small area and outfit changes are easy and quick – you will be surprised at what we can accomplish, and the variety you will receive! Engagement sessions, for example, are two hours long usually – but we are walking all over the place to get to different areas, and often drive to a completely different location! Do note that I give EVERYONE the full hour – so occasionally the later-day sessions may run a tiny bit late. Plan to allow enough time to be early! There will be plenty of area to relax while you wait your turn with CaraSue, and we’ll have all kinds of goodies available for you. Yes, this is a weekday marathon – but weekends are difficult for clients this time of year with vacations and lake weekends, as well as for us with weddings. Plus, think of it this way – if you take a bit of time from work, will your beau EVER know what you are up to?? I did my own boudoir session for my husband on a weekday morning so he would NEVER know what I was up to 😉

Please email sarah@sarahdickersonphoto.com with any questions or to book your session. I accept checks, cash, Visa, Mastercard and Discover for both the deposit and final payment (which is due at the session; and you can decide then which package you’d prefer once you get a chance to look through the sample album). Remember, only 6 slots remain right now, and this is the last marathon we will do until after the holidays!!!

It’s not often that a client gives me permission to blog a select few boudoir images, so I’m understandably excited to share Stephanie’s session. SDP is quickly growing into the boudoir photography “genre” in Kansas City, and in addition to private sessions, I’m proud to announce boudoir marathon #2 in the works for March 26th. You got it – Saturday, March 26th. It will be at a hotel or bed and breakfast in the Kansas City area – so stay tuned for location (working on that RIGHT NOW!). I’ll once again be working with CaraSue Hall with CH Makeup Artistry for the marathon, and sessions at the marathon will include not only the session fee, but a disc of edited images and makeup, hair and lashes by CaraSue.

I’ll have complete information soon (i.e. location) – but it’s not too early to book! A $100.00 non-refundable deposit secures your spot in the marathon.

I also have private sessions available, as Stephanie did. Please email for more information on these fun sessions and STUN the heck outta your man!

Without further adieu, here’s Stephanie. Hair and Makeup by CaraSue Hall of CH Makeup Artistry.
