The Lanes met me at the studio last week for a “hybrid” newborn session with new son Harrison as well as a family session. We even ventured outside the studio a bit given the strange 64-degree weather! Although I worry about how dry and unseasonably warm it is right now and what that spells for spring, crops, and all of that, I must say I’m not complaining at the increase in off-season shooting due to the weather!

The Walton family met me just after the new year on what is turning out to be a rare blustery day. Since there were just the 3 of them, we were able to stick to mostly in-studio shots, with a few outside on a couple of different occasions until we got too cold

I shot a family session for the Fords at Shawnee Mission Park last week – their daughter, Lauren, booked her 2012 wedding with SDP and they were anxious to get updated family portraits before Lauren moves out of town this coming weekend! It was a hot evening and the chiggers were out in full force (I quit counting at 25 bites!), but we had some gorgeous light and scenery to work with and you’d never know we were all sweating up a storm. You’ll see Lauren back on the blog next week, as she and her fiance Jayme are having their engagement session done this week before she moves to Michigan!
