2017 Session Information and a SPRING SALE!

SDP has had a very quiet winter as I settle into my new career. However, Daylight Savings returns tonight, Spring is (mostly!) in the air, and it’s time to think about portrait sessions again! I continue to offer family, senior, engagement, newborn, or any other kind of portrait session on a part-time basis. My schedule is posted each month, by the 19th of the previous month, on my booking page which can be accessed here or by clicking the “availability calendar” link at the top of this page under the “info and pricing” tab.

Right now, I have session availability for this month (March) posted, beginning March 22nd, and continuing through the end of the month. April’s dates will be posted when I receive my April work schedule (no later than March 19th). I do hope to host a mini session day in April; however, this will be dependent upon me getting a good weekend day off next month! (A side note: I should have plenty of session availability in April and May, but June will likely be a very limited month for me due to my annual recurrent training at the airline, which requires a substantial amount of online coursework, study, and preparation.)

And the most important part of this post – I am, for the first time EVER, having a session sale! Book now and save on your session fee, whether a full or mini session! To do so, again, visit the links above to book your session, and instead choose one of the two “gift certificate” options. You will pay now, but can use anytime in 2017! You will receive a code via email that you can redeem for a session and book immediately with the quick link provided, or book later, even this fall! If you have any questions about the sale, which runs through next Friday the 17th, please shoot me an email.

March 23rd, 2015

As promised in yesterday’s mini session post (you are planning on booking a session on May 16th, July 12th or October 12th, right?), here are a few highlights from a very small handful of mini and micro sessions late last fall and this past winter. Like what you see? Contact me to get your session […]

As promised in yesterday’s mini session post (you are planning on booking a session on May 16th, July 12th or October 12th, right?), here are a few highlights from a very small handful of mini and micro sessions late last fall and this past winter. Like what you see? Contact me to get your session booked now, as the three aforementioned dates are available on a first-come, first-book basis! (again, review mini/micro pricing and booking information here!) Just a peek below. And, if you are interested in a full session – whether it be family, a senior session, engagement, or anything else, my new 2015 Portrait Guide including full pricing is out. I’ve simplified pricing to include digital files (with print release) in my packages for this year. These sessions can be booked anytime!

And here’s just a few from my mini and micro sessions over the past 4 months or so!

This gorgeous family’s session is one of my favorites from this past fall. Amy is a fellow Kansas City photographer whom I’ve known for years now – in fact, we first met at a “shoot day” way back in 2008 (?). I was honored when she asked me to do a family session of her and her gorgeous daughters this fall. We chose a country setting and it fit to a “T”. The thing I love most about this session, though, is the connection between these ladies. Love them!!

the Robbins family

July 1st, 2013

I’ve known this family a while; after all, they are our neighbors! Dad Tony also is the chief flight instructor at ATD Flight Systems, where I’ve also flight instructed (on a very, very part time basis as my photography business allows!) since 2005. I’ve known this family a while; after all, they are our neighbors! Dad Tony also is the chief flight instructor at ATD Flight Systems, where I’ve also flight instructed (on a very, very part time basis as my photography business allows!) since 2005. We started this as a dual session, with some portraits for daughter Kenzy, then on a wonderful sunny evening got the whole fam (and dogs!) into the act.

First off, Kenzy’s session!

the Grice family | Liberty Missouri family photos at the studio

November 21st, 2012

Last but certainly not least among my November 4th mini session families is the Grice family! I’ve got a few office items to tidy up and then will be out for Thanksgiving, so I’ll see you all on the flip side! In the meantime enjoy all these great families I’ve posted the past few days. […]

the Morgan family | fun fall portraits in Weston, Missouri

November 6th, 2011

The Morgans are repeat clients – I did a fall session for them last year in Parkville. This year, the session was all about the boys, as their dad is currently deployed and wanted some fun, current photos of them 🙂 The great, dry fall weather continued for us and the fall colors, what we DID manage in this drought, had really popped. We started off with some more standard portraits, then finished by getting some fun shots of the boys being…boys at the playground!

I met Kendra, her mom Jessica, and her little sis Dakota at Watkin’s Mill State Park yesterday afternoon to do a portrait session in preparation for a couple of pageants she has coming up this spring. What a glorious place to shoot in the springtime! I wanted to stay past our session and just soak in the fresh air. Thanks Kendra for wandering off the beaten path in your sandals – at least your photographer was equally unprepared to go schlepping through the brush! 🙂

Up next is Michael’s senior session, which will probably hit the blog tomorrow AM!

Shanna, Brayson and Lindsey: Kansas City Family Photography

Yesterday Shanna brought her family up for a shoot. We wandered the countryside in “God’s Country” – at least for as long as we all could stay warm. That wind would cut right through ya! The light was absolutely gorgeous and it’s one of the things I like about winter shooting – the sun is much less harsh than it is in the summer when it’s directly overhead. I ALWAYS have clients tell me “we’ll do x shoot or y shoot in the spring” but honestly, winter is a GREAT time to shoot! I think when you see these photos you’ll agree. We can work around the barren trees quite well – and the neutral tones of the land are really nice.

Guys, thanks for coming out and I hope you love these! And Brayson, I hope your soybean field-induced allergy attack was over with quickly!! 🙂
