Stacey + Phil | engaged….and some quick 2015 studio notes

February 5th, 2015

Today I’m featuring a special couple – because it’s my sister and her fiance! (no, I am not shooting their wedding! 😉 ). They get married in just a short 10 days from now, on Valentine’s Day. We did this session last fall, at the last minute, in an opening I had come available. What […]

Today I’m featuring a special couple – because it’s my sister and her fiance! (no, I am not shooting their wedding! 😉 ). They get married in just a short 10 days from now, on Valentine’s Day. We did this session last fall, at the last minute, in an opening I had come available. What a gorgeous day it ended up being.

Before we get to the photos (I know you want to see them!), here’s a quick studio notes for this season. First, I’m almost booked for weddings for this year, so if you are interested in getting on board, do so quickly! As of now, most of my availability lies in November and December, though I do have scattered dates available through the rest of this year. 2016 inquiries are *just* starting to roll in. So…you think you want to have me photograph your big day, and perhaps your engagement session. How does this work? First of all, give me an email to get the downloadable price list and wedding guide. My weddings start at $2650, and although I do have packages, they are highly customizeable. If you really like what you see, great, let’s talk! We can schedule a time to meet in my studio in Liberty, MO for a consultation – or via phone or skype if you aren’t local. At that point, you’ll have a contract that I’ll go over with you. If you decide you’d like to book your date, I do hold all wedding dates for clients for 72 hours after the initial consultation. After that time, dates become available and are first-come, first-served. Meaning, the first bride and groom to submit their signed contract and retainer for a date get that date. It’s the only fair way to conduct business, especially for highly sought-after dates during peak season!

Secondly, portrait sessions – which include families, boudoir, seniors, and pet sessions – I’ll be releasing dates for my mini session dates and boudoir marathons for ALL of 2015 next week. I will also release new full-session pricing, which will be greatly simplified this year, at that time. I’m very excited about this year and plan to unveil a lot of new options for sessions shot at my studio in Liberty, that I’m pretty darn excited about! Please note that I will only be shooting mini sessions on set mini session dates! Otherwise, I book full sessions. Look for the full details on these mini session and boudoir marathon dates next week, and a link to my new portrait pricing! It’s not too early to start thinking about spring sessions, holy cow, it’s getting into February already!

So, now that all of the housecleaning is done, here’s Stacey and Phil!

Erin and Scott have these infectious smiles. Smiles I discovered when shooting their engagement session last fall, and smiles that grew bigger on their wedding day last Saturday (which, by the way, had to have been the most picture-perfect day for a wedding that was ever created). Their connection is genuine and that makes photographing the two of them truly easy. The wedding party was a blast, too (sometimes a bit too much 😉 ) and the whole afternoon was just a lot of fun for me. As you’ll be able to see below, it was a lot of fun for EVERYONE. Congratulations, Erin and Scott! Thanks to Lori Fetterling for assisting me!!

I love “first looks” – and the last shot in this series brought tears to my eyes when I caught a glimpse on the preview screen.
