Joe + Cassie | Parkville, Missouri engagement session

January 9th, 2015

Couldn’t wait to share this engagement session in Parkville, Missouri around the quaint downtown area with this adorable couple! Cassie and Joe will be tying the knot in 2015. I’ve got a little bit of availability left in this year’s season still, so if you are interested in booking your wedding, don’t wait!

Casie & Sam | Parkville engagement session

June 18th, 2013

Casie and Sam met me at the place where it all started – where they went to elementary school! We did a few cute photos on site there (what a fun idea!), then headed to Parkville to shoot around the park and downtown. You can see these two right here again in December after they […]

Kristen and Chris drove down from Omaha for their engagement session a couple of weeks ago; we had a TON of fun but of course I was disappointed as has SO often happened this fall, clouds rolled in a couple hours before we were due to start. Of course I love a dramatic sunset; but honestly, looking at these images I LOVE the softness of the cloudy day. Absolutely love it. AND – these two got lucky anyhow, as when we arrived at our second location the sun broke from beneath the backside of the clouds to reveal a golden sunset. Not just an ordinary sunset, but a “just after the storm” golden cast to everything. It only lasted maybe a mere 10 minutes, but we got some incredible light during those glorious 10 minutes! These two are SUCH a sweet couple and I cannot wait to venture to Omaha to shoot their wedding in the fall of 2013!

Bridgitt + Lucas | Parkville engagement session

June 20th, 2012

These two are SO into each other – you can just see it in their eyes and actions! This is one of those rare couples that you don’t have to “direct” at all. They are just so..connected. What fun we had shooting around the fields surrounding Parkville, Missouri as well as the quaint downtown itself. […]

We finished JUST in time – the clouds were growing quite angry by the time we finished, a rarity this year! I am looking forward to shooting their wedding in 2013! 🙂

Kylie and Chris drove over 6 hours from Garden City, Kansas to accomplish some wedding errands in Kansas City and Topeka – including their engagement session. We had to plan way in advance, and luckily the weather worked out – most will remember last Friday as the night that storms rolled through KC with 80mph+ winds, causing the second biggest power outage in the city’s history! (Behind our 2002 ice storm – who remembers that one? Yeesh.) Luckily we had gorgeous weather for Kylie and Chris’ session, though, with only distant storm clouds boiling to the north…we were still blessed with a gorgeous sunset. Thanks to Brooke Letorneau for assisting on this session! You’ll see Kylie and Chris here on the blog next March – as a married couple!

Jessica + Ryan | Kansas City and Parkville engagement portraits

July 1st, 2011

Jessica and Ryan got their session in on the last NICE day this week – meaning, the temperatures were actually comfortable and not sweltering. We shot around the area just south of downtown Kansas City for part of the session then headed to Parkville (high-ground Parkville, that is!) for the second half of their session. Congratulations to these two who will be having a wintertime Caribbean wedding (lucky ducks!) And happy 4th of July to all of my faithful blog followers! I’m headed out of town for a Saturday wedding in Hutchinson, and enjoying the latter half of Sunday and Monday with both dear friends and family! Hope your 4th is relaxing, safe, and FUN!

Elena and Travis: engaged | Parkville, Missouri

Elena and Travis are simply the most adorable couple ever. Game over. They just radiate fun and love and good times and it so, so totally shows in their images below. And they did so even in the worst possible summer conditions – the actual temperature was over 100 degrees at the time of the shoot. They brought along their dog Alfie, who had tons of energy despite the heat until she realized it was..um…HOT! Elena and Travis came armed with a huge jug of water for the three of them and a roving plastic dish for Alfie and we made it through just fine.

The days are getting shorter which you might think of as a negative, but the positive is that you don’t have to shoot super late to hit the absolute best light. The light during this session was nothing short of phenomenal!

I hope the two of you are recovered! My clothes I wore that evening were STILL damp when I sorted laundry this AM. Eww!

Who better to introduce the shoot than Alfie herself?
