Julia and Joe stuck with me through some big time heat, a brief rainshower (we were glad that was IT – I was convinced we were going to get dumped on!), ticks, and all kinds of other “discomforts” to get their engagement session in. What they got was a super cute session with some incredible light! After the country session they desired, done in the wilds near Parkville, we headed into the city to finish off with a (and this is SUPER popular this season) requested skyline shot. The sky was fantastic and gave us some vivid late day clouds and sky that reminded one of an impressionism-era painting.

Portrait season is starting to really slow down now (the weddings are still going strong, though!), so I enjoy the few chances I get to get out and shoot. I met Kathleen and David late in the afternoon at my studio and we set out to shoot briefly at Briarcliff Park (right across the street!) and then headed over to Parkville to finish the shoot. This couple was really, REALLY fun.
We shot right up ’til sunset including actually getting the gorgeous sunset. Enjoy!

Here’s another couple you’ll see more of right here on the ‘ol blog next year – Alisha and Joe will be getting married at the Hawthorne House (which I’ve always wanted to shoot and will finally get to!) next May. They had a gorgeous day for their engagement session around downtown Parkville Missouri and English Landing – and some remarkable light at the end of the shoot. Beyond that, though, is the great connection these two have – one that us photographers love to photograph, but can’t really coach – it’s just there.
