Julia and I met yesterday to do her senior session. She’s actually already done with school, having finished at semester (smart girl…lucky girl!). I’ve shot the River Market quite a bit lately, so the goal was coming up with some different stuff! I think we succeeded.

I love it when the breeze blows hair just so…

At times, Julia looks a wee bit like Jessica Simpson. Y’think?

Arielle L: Kansas City senior photography

Arielle met me on Saturday for her senior shoot in the River Market, and again we had great light to work with just about wherever we wandered – and TONS of spring color! We both talked about how GLAD we were that it is finally warm out. I’m glad to have green scenery once again (well, almost!) I think y’all will agree that Arielle has a great smile and GORGEOUS hair!

I’ll leave ya with my favorite from the session. Um, yeah…wow.

Megan L: Kansas City Senior Photographers

I met Megan and her boyfriend Dakota on the Plaza last week to do her senior session. Megan is a girl with a mission: she wants to attend veterinary school, and specialize in equine medicine. A girl after my own heart! Here are some highlights from the session. Two more sessions coming up yet this evening as well! Congratulations, Megan!

The weather is getting nice(r) out! I see green grass starting to poke through the brown, dormant stuff in my yard. It broke 60 degrees yesterday. Yes, another “busy season” is shortly upon us which includes YOU, seniors!! So, to entice you out of hibernation and out for a FUN photoshoot featuring fabulous YOU, I’m including 50 complimentary wallets for anyone booking their senior package by May 1st. No, you don’t have to have your shoot DONE by May 1st, just scheduled. What’s not to love? You can choose up to 3 images for these 50 wallets, and of course you can order more wallets, enlargements and much more in your custom online gallery after your shoot – or in person at my studio in a proofing/ordering session where I can show you some of our fabulous products in person, including INCREDIBLE senior albums we are getting in shortly!

Bailey B: senior shoot

We had a definite Plaza theme running this past weekend, and it continued on Sunday with Bailey’s senior shoot. This girl can work. it. out. I was bummed that the sun went away PRECISELY as we arrived for the shoot – but the light was beautiful regardless, and we shot right up ’til dark. Isn’t she absolutely, stunningly BEAUTIFUL????

Whitney was super brave to be so stylin’ in her dresses in the cold! SOOOPA CUTE photos below, I think it was worth it, Whitney!!

I’m signing off the blog for the next week/week and a half as I leave for a CRUISE!! So freaking excited! I’ll be back with even more shoots when I get back in town – in the meantime, I’m doing one last massive editing push to get as many of your shoots onto the proofing site as possible before I leave – and for those placing print orders – I’ll fulfill those through the weekend, then after that they will have to wait until I return next Friday…same with CD/DVD orders – if I get it today – I can get it out – otherwise it won’t go until the next mail day after I return which will be next Saturday. Thanks for your understanding – I need a vacation!!

So…not to steal Whitney’s thunder…here she is!

Devin L: senior shoot

Devin had an abundance of gorgeous scenery at her disposal for our senior shoot last Saturday. Her next door neighbor allowed us full access to his gorgeous property, including small private lake with island. And we used it to its fullest extent…though we will both admit to being just a bit scared of running into a snake while exploring such places as the island (snakes = VERY bad in my book!) But, no snakes, and great shots. Devin was a natural in front of the camera even though at times her horse Eddie wanted do be anywhere but in front of a camera – we managed to make it all work out and THEN some. And her neighbor? A fellow pilot. He was at a fly-in at a neighboring grass strip and was actually circling over us while we were shooting! Too funny.

Seriously. Can she be any cuter?

And seriously. Can the landscape be any prettier?

Olivia H: senior shoot

Next in a series of many blogs to come is Olivia’s senior shoot. We were a bit discouraged when we met up and found that not only were the skies cloudy, they were getting downright ominous at times during the shoot with sprinkles here and there. Once it started getting darker, we tried something a bit different and played around with some off-camera flash. Results below.

Sarah N: Senior Shoot

How ’bout a little country all? We did Sarah’s senior session on her family’s farm property last weekend and had some great scenery to work with – and a vintage GMC truck to boot. This shoot was fun for me because I’ve known Sarah since she was veeeeeeery small. Yeah, I don’t feel old. at. all. Here’s some highlights from the shoot.

Derek: senior shoot

This was a really fun shoot. We started out at Derek’s house for photos with the family’s dogs Tigger and Barney, plus an antique fire truck – then on to the West Bottoms for some exploring and photos with Derek’s motorized “toys”. The light was especially nice that evening – as you’ll see – and we added some fun off-camera lighting as well. I had a VERY hard time narrowing down some of my more favorite shots – especially with Derek’s motorcycle, so just included several.
