I’ve known Caitlin through photographing area dressage shows, so was flattered when she contacted me to do her senior session. We made her two horses, Galaxy and Stryker, the focus of the session. Caitlin is presently, as I type this, competing both horses at the Region 8 Arabian and Half-Arabian Sporthorse Championships in Estes Park, Colorado – so can I get a “good luck Caitlin!” from my faithful blog followers? I hope you are having a GREAT show!

Caitlin wins the prize for my first 2011 senior to photograph. Judging by the inquiries I’ve been getting the past two weeks, though, it’s going to be a very busy late summer and fall!

Brette B: Kansas City senior photography

I met Brette, her mother, and their black lab Piper on the Plaza late yesterday afternoon to do her senior session. I was a bit concerned about the weather but we got it in – it didn’t start pouring until I hit downtown on the drive home! Brette, best of luck at K-State next fall!

Arielle L: Kansas City senior photography

Arielle met me on Saturday for her senior shoot in the River Market, and again we had great light to work with just about wherever we wandered – and TONS of spring color! We both talked about how GLAD we were that it is finally warm out. I’m glad to have green scenery once again (well, almost!) I think y’all will agree that Arielle has a great smile and GORGEOUS hair!

I’ll leave ya with my favorite from the session. Um, yeah…wow.

Megan L: Kansas City Senior Photographers

I met Megan and her boyfriend Dakota on the Plaza last week to do her senior session. Megan is a girl with a mission: she wants to attend veterinary school, and specialize in equine medicine. A girl after my own heart! Here are some highlights from the session. Two more sessions coming up yet this evening as well! Congratulations, Megan!

The weather is getting nice(r) out! I see green grass starting to poke through the brown, dormant stuff in my yard. It broke 60 degrees yesterday. Yes, another “busy season” is shortly upon us which includes YOU, seniors!! We had a definite Plaza theme running this past weekend, and it continued on Sunday with Bailey’s senior shoot. This girl can work. it. out. I was bummed that the sun went away PRECISELY as we arrived for the shoot – but the light was beautiful regardless, and we shot right up ’til dark. Isn’t she absolutely, stunningly BEAUTIFUL????

Whitney was super brave to be so stylin’ in her dresses in the cold! SOOOPA CUTE photos below, I think it was worth it, Whitney!!

I’m signing off the blog for the next week/week and a half as I leave for a CRUISE!! So freaking excited! I’ll be back with even more shoots when I get back in town – in the meantime, I’m doing one last massive editing push to get as many of your shoots onto the proofing site as possible before I leave – and for those placing print orders – I’ll fulfill those through the weekend, then after that they will have to wait until I return next Friday…same with CD/DVD orders – if I get it today – I can get it out – otherwise it won’t go until the next mail day after I return which will be next Saturday. Thanks for your understanding – I need a vacation!!
