I have been SO excited to blog this wedding ever since I shot it. SO excited. This week has been so trying for me – ’twas the week before Christmas….and I’ve done nothing but fill orders. I’m blessed to have so many great clients and I’ve had so many HUGE orders this week with my sale – but it’s darn near killed me. I’ve been sick all week and have barely slept! So…I got up at 5am to finally finish blogging this wedding that I have been trying to blog ALL WEEK.
And here it is. I LOVED working with Emilie and Terrol. Their engagement session at Shawnee Mission Park was one of my best sessions to date when I shot it – and I knew shooting their wedding was going to be so easy. Why? Because these two love each other SO much. I have to do nothing but shoot. And smile. The wedding was no different; and I had some different (and honestly challenging) conditions to work with in that the two did not see each other until the ceremony – which was nearly candle-lit (and was candle-lit at times). Once the ceremony was over, the bride/groom and wedding party portraits were obviously going to be done after dark. Which means LOTS of lighting. I really prepped for this one, though, and my assistant extraordinaire Lori Fetterling truly saved the day by helping move and hold lighting. I could not have worked as efficiently as I did without her, and her help this season on numerous weddings has been a godsend. The bride and groom portraits here are different from anything I’ve ever done, and I’m really excited to share them with you all. I think the holiday and old-Hollywood-glam feel was really shining through.
Here you go. Enjoy. Happy Holidays. And congratulations to Emilie and Terrol!
the unity candle passed through the entire crowd. I had never seen this done – and it was SO powerful.

get this. Emilie made the cupcakes HERSELF. So incredibly talented!

attention brides-to-be: I cannot TELL you how hoppin’ receptions are that have a band. I mean the crowd gets INTO it!
