Jessica and Gabe were married in a very small, private ceremony at the gorgeous yet quaint Pilgrim Chapel on the edge of Kansas City’s Hyde Park. I say very small because as I recall, there were 14 guests present! The ceremony was so close-knit – for instance, instead of walking down the aisle at the end of the ceremony, Jessica and Gabe immediately went to their family for hugs and well-wishes. After the ceremony, we shot around the River Market – not only home to their reception at the Farm House (a restaurant now on my must-try list featuring locally-grown and produced foods – just LOOK at the food collage below!), but also THEIR home. Their beagle joined us for a few shots as well and we documented the area as best as we could, as was their wish since they will be moving to Dayton, Ohio next year! I hope you two had a fantastic honeymoon – here’s a sneak peek from the afternoon I spent with you all!

I loved this reception. It wasn’t a traditional reception – just hors d’oeuvres, visiting, then dinner – which allowed me to just be a “fly on the wall” and shoot more photojournalistically – capturing conversation, laughs, and good times.
