Meghan and Kevin: married | Kansas City wedding photography

Meghan and Kevin’s wedding last Saturday was a BLAST. Especially the reception, which got a bit crazy when…are you ready for this?…Willie the Wildcat showed up. Yes, both are huge K-Staters, and yes, most of the guests were as well. Between rousing renditions of “Wildcat Victory” (yes, I DID have to google the name of the K-State fight song, lest all of you be floored at my knowledge…I’m admittedly NOT a K-Stater), requests to take guests’ photos with Willie, and the K-State logo appearing in lights on the side of the downtown Marriott, well, it was a purple kinda night. 🙂 Even though it was a loooong day, my second shooter Tim and I had a hard time leaving!

Meghan and Kevin’s day was a picture-perfect one…the weather was gorgeous, everything went off without a hitch, and they were surrounded by enthusiastic and loving family and friends. Tim Miller of Red Vine Studios drove up from Springfield, Missouri, and I can’t say thanks enough, Tim, for your help! I’ll post up a link to his blog right here as soon as he gets his shots up from the wedding.

In the meantime, here’s my account of the day.

I took a few minutes to shoot some bridal portraits of Meghan. They came out so stunningly beautiful, I had to post several.

Tim and I then followed the “party bus” throughout points around and near downtown Kansas City.

This next series resulted in me having to smooth-talk my way out of a parking ticket. Parking was at a premium and I parked in a spot that I thought didn’t look right. It wasn’t. I didn’t notice the no-parking sign, and the meter maid guy pulled up and honked right as I got out of my car. Luckily, he was a nice guy and let me get the shots and get my car out of its illegal spot. Thank you, whoever you were. 🙂

On to that reception I talked about. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough space to fully document the fun that was had here on the blog, but hopefully you’ll get the gist.
